Been raining for consecutive days now but good that heavy equipment cleared the beach canal to let the overflow of water to reach it lowering the floods but also good thing that it’s low tide.
Yesterday during errands I got my mountain bike tire’s flat. It’s worse because after changing the rear wheel hub, a number of spokes has to be removed as the new hub requires less spokes but that also meant more compression and less force distribution hence I got flat tire when the wheels hit bumps on the road at moderate to high speeds. All in all, 4 punctures to date and all are facing the end of spokes. Decided to a workaround for it afternoon Thursday with a layer of electrical tape inside around the rim underneath the base of each spokes. Also got my road bike with new air on the tires. Can’t use it because of the rains and flood though it is all alloy. Had to apply machine oil to parts of the road bike and decided to cover its chain with sticky chain lube. Mountain bike is kept as usual with WD-40, oil, and chain oil. Hard to live near the beach, every metal gets corroded fast. Today my gas valve in the kitchen broke due to continuous rain and moisture. Had to get a new one from the hardware.
On the other hand, I almost forgot my password for the zip file backup of all my documents before I migrated my computer workstation from Windows 10 Pro to AntiX 26 Full Linux. Fortunately, I was able to recall it and restore my document backups. Otherwise, it’s going to be a headache to lose access to all my documents.
Studying the codes for the machine learning system we are building in the laboratory for the AI Engineering course and going to replace the use of groq since I have locally running AI models. The only challenge is that groq was kinda tightly coupled in the code so removing it will break in a number of places. There is also the structure of inputs and outputs that is dependent on groq that I need to sort out.
For some thoughts today. Before the rise of LLMs, engineers strives to learn to talk to computers using programming languages to build systems that solve some problem. These days engineers strives to learn to talk to LLMs (AI models) using human language to build systems that solve some problem.
