Last time I use regular internet without VPN for non-sensitive internet activities and because enterprise grade web apps also protected the end to end connection with TLS and HTTPS except that it does not hide what websites you are connecting. Coupled with this approach, I use Tor whenever I want anonymity so that adversaries could not even have an idea as to what websites I am visiting. Although the Tor browser also gives anonymity and encryption on internet activities, the biggest downside of Tor because it has to do multi-hops is the latency. Tor is the slowest of all the alternatives. This approach was brought about by the instability of the VPN client that I have setup for my workstation.
Today I managed to setup a VPN solution that works the best for my situation. It provides a VPN protection for my internet activities and is much faster than Tor. It is actually comparable to regular VPN products. It does not however cover other applications such as my metaverse viewers so the anonymity is still limited but I am happy already. The solution actually solves the routing loop problem with the ISP which until now they have not resolved yet while also solving my VPN needs without me having to resort to Tor.
