I started doing a geopolitical profile of China for a potential future war with them. There is some kind of upheaval happening in my country. It looks good specially on calling out the politicians for their corruption on the flood control scandal. The only problem is that because the people are loosing trust on the government, a lot of them have shifted towards the left which are supporters of communist ideals and the groups advocating for such as has Mao Zedung doctrines at their core but applied to Philippine perspective. Such groups’ political ideals are the same ideals that is in the core of the armed communist groups in the country. This brings me back to a question that I had around 20 years ago when I was in the army. My question, is the New People’s Army and the whole CPP/NDF groups supporting the armed group is a proxy of China? But the survey that I did doesn’t seem to show it and so I moved on and forgot about it.
Today, although there is consensus in academic studies that the CPP-NDF-NPA is not being backed up by China, I could not help but ask why the timing when the issue on the resupply missions to BRP Sierra Madre, the racist propaganda attack to Filipinos, the claim on the existing lands with Filipino communities in the Philippines by China like Batanes and Palawan has been on the headlines, the same time that these group came out boldly with people supporting them and these people are pro-China. The same group that was supporting Duterte with his drug war many years ago and the opening of the Philippines to an unregulated inflow of Chinese nationals. To be honest, I see a connection with China and the CPP-NDF-NPA.
This also bring me to realize why after the world war 2 despite that my country has the same US curriculum in science and engineering, my country has lagged behind the US in terms of Science and Technology for roughly 60 years. Then a eureka moment, the only flagship university in my country is home to the CCP-NDF-NPA at least on the propaganda, protest, and armed recruitment side. Maybe, these leftist groups who are in academic position and influence filters enough ideas to publish but purges ideas that can be used for weaponization of the state or at least something that gives leverage the current government they will be filtered out. I remember a long time ago when I was there doing my MS Computer Science studies that at one point I had this idea to study Turing Machines that are adversarial to one another. My professor and also my adviser suddenly get irrate and discouraged me saying that it’s not only me who are doing such studies and pushed me away from it back to my original research direction which is quantum computing.
I just hope there would not be a war between China and Philippines but if that happens and eventually the leftist groups helps China to overcome the resistance and have control over the Philippines, I will have to fight. I would prefer that my country if it can not defend democracy, instead of becoming a communist country I would rather have my country as an Islamic State like Brunei, Saudi Arabia, and others. That means I will fight the communist with Islam if that day comes.
