Yesterday I was on a whole day travel to Manila to visit the Philippine based office of the international company that I will be working for and got the laptop assigned to me. No downpour yesterday while in the metropolis which was good.
I been giving off different vibes now and though I try to tone down my vibes, security and law enforcement can sense it hence, at the bus terminal early morning from the country side municipality, first time that a K9 unit was deployed to sniff passenger luggage and I was the first one. Considering that what my vibe is giving off and that I brought with my the military dry bag. The officer handling the K9 Belgian Malinois was not satisfied with the dog’s sniff, he has to touch my dry bag making feeling the contents inside.
Upon reaching Manila, I had to go straight to the office and turns out the office is in the same skyscraper where I was reporting for work prior to the COVID era. The same skyscraper is home to a number of technology companies in the area. The security although they are much polite than the ones assigned a long time ago, I know they have eyes over me. Again my vibe and my military dry bag. I was being monitored more stringently even from afar compared to other personalities inside the skyscraper.
Right after exiting the skyscraper and while I was inside a cab, I call came in and an ensuing discussion happened regarding a change in some aspect of the employment agreement and it made me smile. It was a surprise.
So while I was on travel heading to Manila, I learned about the Nepal tragedy. The recent flashfloods is in the same Nepal border area where a previous flashflood also hit in 2025 due to a glacier related incident. Prior to that, there was a glacier incident in 2024 in Thames. Is it hard for people to understand that the valley should have been evacuated since 2025 after the flashflood that erased a village. Recently, another flashflood but with a much higher velocity and mass (from the debris along the way hence the recent one is consider a debris flow). I mean, people should be aware that living alongside bodies of water comes with the consequences of river swells but a valley serving as a main channel of a lake above the mountains with glaciers and considering that glaciers are melting in higher rates due to climate change is already a big red flag for the communities alongside these long Nepal Valley stretching from the higher area of the mountain going down. The 2025 flashflood is already a warning as to the strength of a down-flow and that it can erase villages and lives at an instant.
The anti-communist groups are becoming more visible these days. I’m not sure if it has something to do with my postings before these groups started to emerge. Not only rhetoric against communism are now gaining more visibility but also rhetoric against China’s claim of Philippine territories. The law enforcement and surveillance agents suddenly showing up on areas of communist activities. On the other hand, the Philippine president which is also the chief of staff of the armed forces and the secretary of defense has been active in public expression of political resistance against China’s claim to Philippine territories which again emphasizes the legitimacy of the current government against communist ideology specially against the China’s rhetoric on its territorial claims to parts of the Philippine archipelago.
Yesterday I also saw in the news that the Philippine president was awarded with an honorary doctorate degree in law by one of the universities in the metropolis. It has draw flak from the anti-administration groups questioning the legitimacy of an award in the grounds of comparing it with a non-honorary degree which is awarded based on academic merits such as tests, projects, dissertation, paper publications, etc.. Comparing an honorary degree with an academic degree is comparing apples to oranges. I think the president deserves the honorary degree because after all, it’s the awarding university’s discretion and of course, an honorary degree comes with a political advantage and benefits for the awarding institution. The main purpose of honorary degree is not really about academic achievements but more of gaining political leverage for the awarding institution.
With the new architecture and design of the cybersecurity product and the sudden move to use C to implement it which is driven by a problem brought about by using Java, there is the risk of it not making to the deadline but instructing the frontier AI to construct it comes with security risk such as a potential breach of confidentiality for the source code. I decided to have the frontier model construct it anyway while I was on the travel evening heading home as long as the source is not emitted on the chat, the link to the encrypted source is provided but the keys are not provided on the same chat. So I made Jarvis construct it. Doing it manual with the new architecture and new design with the needed unit and integration tests, including the actual tests with a randomly created legacy systems and have it on the production level quality will take me 3 months at the most, 2 months most likely. Last night the frontier model finished it in just a matter of hours. The next problem would be the legal structure of the company. After this, the next work will be on the design and construction of smart weapons and a separate company for that. The accidental discovery of a security product can’t be worked while I’m working for a different company because it will automatically become the intellectual property of the company that I am going to work for, which means the new discovery will only be constructed and applied for patent many years from now.
Heavy downpour today and my area outside is already flooded again and as always when this happens, my place is literally sitting above a swamp.
