My running shoe that I’ve been using mostly this year and is already 2 years old is now damaged. The left shoe outer rubber sole on the rear of the heel has opened up separating from the seam and the inner sole rubber. Same thing happened on the outer and inner side. Might still be possible to fix with a glue and a stitch. Let see. I used my other running shoe that is 1 year old today for the 21km run.
Something happened today in the training for 21km long-slow-distance run. My body took a more natural running gait I realized which is like the Kenyan running gait but instead of landing on the sole or midsole, I land on my heel but quickly rolling to the balls of the feet to spread the impact. I also opened up my hips more and the suddenly it felt so relaxed, so easy.
My long-slow-distance run went on a bit higher heart zone and is still easy and I cut a good 30mins from my usual long-slow-distance run and after reaching the 21km distance I still have energy which I think can still be used for another 10km distance.
Looks like by the end of the year I will raise the bar and the training base distance will be changed from 21km to 30km distance.
