Went out for a 10km fartlek or speed run workout interval between easy jog and a variable speed runs.
Early in the run it was so hot but then after the half distance it started to rain. I was soaked wet because it was a heavy downpour.
Upon reaching the next town I noticed that the rain was starting to wane down and a curious phenomena I witnessed again. A house on the coastal roadside was under a downpour but its surroundings was not and then while I was getting past it the rain moved to another house and stopped. This is one of the phenomena about rain that I find curious and because such experience is rare and doing runs made me experience and witness these things.
A large part of the next town was totally dry. The heavy downpour was only in my town and heading back I encountered roads flooded.
With the heavy downpour was lightning and while exiting my town heading towards the next town, a lighting striked an electric post 20 meters from me. Back in 2024 I experienced a similar incident at the early part of the evening run and there was no rain but there was so many lightning that one actually hit a coconut tree 15 meters from me and in mind I saying to myself, if I got hit by a lighting, better that it kills me instead of leaving me alive but with injuries and a hospital bill.
The lightning storm was dreadful because of the uncertainty and the risk of a lightning strike hitting but then, its a good way to train the mind to control fear and push amidst a threat.
